Finally I can put pics up here again. I was having trouble uploading for a little while.

Some people fall asleep at their computer desk, after having had a long day. Not everyone can say they have fallen asleep in their computer desk!! The lil one was in his room playing, and it got awfully quiet in there. I decided to see why. Well, the picture here is why. He's not looking for something in there, he's sound asleep.

The finished shawl. It's finally finished. I promised another pic, so here it is in all it's glory. I'm very happy with it.As soon as my mother tells me that she is in her new place and gives me the new address, it will be in the mail on the way to her. I think I might need to make another one for me.

That dog you see is that little puppy that my hubby brought home several months ago. She's not so little. William was just so tired, he zonked out right where he was, rather than waiting till his bedtime a half hour later.

I haven't done any knitting today, but worked some more on spinning that lovely purple and black superwash. At this rate I might get to work with the yarn by Christmas. The stuff wants to spin pretty fine.

I wrote a couple poems yesterday. Haven't thought of titles for them yet, but once I do, I think I'll put them up here too.

I've been talking alot with a really good friend lately, whom I haven't seen in over 3 years. It's really nice to be able to keep in touch like that. It makes me feel that much closer to "home", which is definately something that Alabama has never felt like. It's also good to talk to someone, even online that I feel like I can tell anything too, and they won't make fun of me or think I'm weird. It's also nice to be appreciated, and to have the things I make/do appreciated as well.

I know I promised other pics of the shawl, but I just haven't gotten around to putting them up on here yet. I'll get them up here at some point. I haven't been doing a whole lot of knitting other than working slowly on the black socks. I've been doing some spinning, a little of this and a little of that. I'll take pics of that too when I have more spun, but like I said, it's just been a lil of this and that.

I have had this almost overwhelming urge to write poetry again the past couple days. I try and it just winds up being this random jumble of words that make no sense in any way no matter how they are arranged on paper.

I guess it doesn't help that I haven't been sleeping all that well lately either. The times when I do manage to convince my mind to fall asleep at a "decent" time, either I wake up for some reason or other on my own, or I'm woken super early by the lil one. I guess that will change eventually, either that or I will figure out how to survive permanently on no sleep.

I really aught to try and do some sort of beadwork again too, I just haven't had the "whatever it takes" to sit down and play with all those pretties. My poor beads have been sitting there looking and me and pouting because I haven't done anythign with them in about a month.

I think part of my problem is that I'm "homesick". I know they say it takes a few years to get used to living in a new place, but we've been in Alabama now for about 3 years and I still miss "home" just as much as I did the day we moved away. I miss all my friends and family up north. I miss the change of seasons. I miss all the wonderful things that I had easy access to: bead shops, craft stores, yarn shops, the foods, the people, etc....I could go on with that list, but I don't want to bore you.

I've gotten one part of the pattern that I am designing charted out and knitted, thanks to the wonderful people I've had helping me go over the written pattern and charts. I have no idea when it will be finished, but I will show you all when it does. Right now I don't want to show the finished pieces to the world. I know, selfish, right? I'm sorry, that's just the way I want to work with it for the moment.

Well, I better stop rambling before I bore you to tears.

I love the colors in this! It's a superwash blend with nylon and acrylic, called Twinkle Toes. A good friend of mine sent this to me. There were 2 2 oz skeins in the bag. She told me it was a start to finish project, but that was it. You can't really tell from the picture, but it sparkles here and there when the light hits it. I'm not sure what it will be when it's all spun, but I'm sure it will let me know.

I just finished the Shetland Garden Faroese shawl this evening. I haven't blocked it yet, but pinned it out, because I had to share :) Tomorrow I will block it and take more pics.

This sweater started out as white, and it decided it wanted to be a different color. It's angora/lambswool and I think there might be some nylon in there if I remember correctly. The almost "cloudy" look to it is not a lighting thing. It actually turned out that way. I think I like it like that.

I've been slowly working on the Shetland Garden Faroese shawl for my mother. If I didn't keep starting other projects, I might have been finished with it by now lol.
Aside from that, I have 2 pairs of socks on the needles right now~ a pair of dark red, and a pair of black ones. I'm doing the black socks for the Socks for Soldiers group. Last nite I was working on them and noticed a dropped stitch, luckily it was only in the row right below, although it's not fun trying to pick up a dropped stitch in a black sock at nite.

I went out today to see if I could find some graph paper, so I wouldn't have to use up all my printer ink. I went to 4 or 5 different stores and no one had any at all. The lady at the one shop said she should have some on next week or so, but that doesn't help me today. I wanted it now lol. I'm attempting to design a knitting pattern and figured the graph paper would help a little.

I just heard from my friend Opal that she got the pkg I mailed her with some earrings and a bracelet I made for her. She seems really happy with them, so I'm happy.

YAY it's finished!!!! Today I finished the beaded edging around the Mystery Pi shawl turned centerpiece.I also took a closeup shot of just the edging to get a better idea of the detail.

Yes, it's on a cutting board....it's romney that I recieved as part of a trade with a friend. It's just the single at the moment, but it's around 48wpi. If I keep up like this with this stuff it will take me a lifetime to spin it all lol

I played around with some koolaid and some handspun wool yarn today. It's not exactly the color I was wanting, but it's the first time I've ever dyed yarn.

Anyone want a puppy? I have to start the mystery pi over again. I made the mistake of setting it down in a place where Shadow could reach it, and she got a hold of it. It came off the needles in the process of taking it away from her. C'est la vie. I can't blame her for it, because it's my fault for leaving it where she could reach.

Today, I started over on the Choose Your Own Adventure Mystery Pi Shawl today. The yarn is I am using is a peachy colored cotton. I'm happy with is so far.
